Tell us what the tree hit
Tell us where it fell and what it hit, whether a fence, a roof, a car or the driveway. We will say what we will do first and when we can be there.
What to do first
Safety comes before the tree. These steps keep people clear while help is arranged.
- If anyone is hurt or trapped, call 000.
- Keep people and pets well away from the tree and anything it is resting on.
- Stay well clear of any power line the tree has brought down or is touching, and call your electricity network’s emergency line. Only the network or an accredited contractor works near live lines.
- For storm damage to your home, such as a tree through the roof, the NSW SES can help on 132 500.
- Take photos of the tree and the damage before anything is moved. Your insurer may ask for them.
- Then call us. We will ask what you can see and arrange the urgent work.
After the urgent work, our storm-damaged tree guide explains how to record the damage, what to check in the trees that remain and the council’s storm rules.

Common questions
Emergency tree work questions
Do you come out at night and on weekends?
Yes. We answer calls and attend urgent tree work 24 hours a day, seven days a week. How soon we can be there depends on the situation and safe access, so call 0497 777 735 rather than send a form.
A tree has brought down a power line. Can you remove it?
Not while the line is live. Stay well clear and call your electricity network’s emergency line; only the network or an accredited contractor works near live lines. Once the network has made the line safe, we can clear the tree.
Do I need council approval to remove a fallen or storm-damaged tree?
Each council sets its own rules for fallen, dead and dangerous trees. Our storm-damaged tree guide explains what to check. Where approval is needed, you apply to the council yourself; we can advise if you need it.
Will my insurance cover the tree removal?
That depends on your policy, so ask your insurer. Take photos of the tree and the damage before anything is moved, and we can give you a free written quote to send them.

Not urgent, but worried about a tree?
Send a photo with the quote form, or call to talk it through. We will tell you whether it needs work now or can wait.
