Should I remove the tree or have it pruned?
If the problem is branch clearance or canopy spread, selective pruning may let you retain the tree. Removal may be appropriate when its condition or position means that pruning cannot resolve the problem. A formal condition assessment or council report, where required, needs a suitably qualified independent arborist.
Can I remove a tree on my own property without council approval?
Not always. Each Sydney council sets its own rules on which trees need approval, and some areas also fall under the NSW RFS 10/50 scheme. Check with your council, by street address, before a tree comes down. You lodge any application yourself, and we can advise on what it should include. Can you work in a backyard with restricted access?
Yes, we undertake confined-access tree work. Gateways, steps, surrounding structures and the space for handling branches determine the method. A tree may need dismantling in smaller sections; a crane is an option only where the lifting position and site conditions are suitable.
