The main factors that influence pricing are:

No. For many jobs, we can give accurate advice from photos and a phone conversation. If a site visit is needed because the tree is large, access is difficult, or the scope is more complex, there is still no charge.
Tree Removal Questions
If the tree is unstable, severely declining, causing structural damage, or no longer suitable for the space, removal is usually the better option. In other cases, tree pruning may be enough. We can advise after seeing photos or inspecting the site.
Yes. We regularly handle sectional dismantling in confined spaces — between houses, near pools, over fences, and in areas with no direct vehicle access. Rigging and crane work are available where needed.
Yes. Palm removal is a common job, including tall palms near power lines, rooflines, and boundary fences. The dead fronds and trunk are removed and the site cleaned. You can read more on our tree removal service page.
All debris is removed from site as part of the standard scope. We leave the area clean and usable. If you want to keep the firewood or mulch, let us know when booking.
Tree Pruning, Lopping & Canopy Reduction
Pruning is selective branch removal to improve health, shape, and clearance. Lopping is a heavier reduction — cutting back larger sections of canopy. Both are valid depending on the situation.
Our guide on tree lopping vs pruning covers this in more detail.
Most trees in Sydney can be pruned year-round, but the ideal timing depends on the species and the reason for pruning. Read our pruning timing guide for specific advice.
Most trees benefit from pruning every 2–5 years depending on growth rate, species, and proximity to structures. Fast-growing species near buildings may need annual attention, especially when branches are overhanging roofs, gutters, driveways, or boundary fences.
Yes. Crown thinning, deadwood removal, and weight reduction are effective ways to reduce the risk of branch failure during high winds and storms.
Stump Grinding & Hedge Trimming
Yes. Many clients contact us to grind old stumps from previous removals. The stump grinder can access most residential areas, and you can read more about the process on our stump grinding service page.
The stump is ground down to 150–300mm below ground level. The remaining grindings can be used as mulch or removed, and the area can be levelled for turf or landscaping.
Yes. We handle both one-off hedge shaping and ongoing maintenance schedules for residential and commercial properties. This includes formal hedges, screening plants, and boundary hedging. See our hedge trimming page for the main service details.
Emergency & Storm Damage
Yes. We provide 24/7 emergency response for storm-damaged trees, fallen branches, uprooted trees, and any situation where a tree is creating an immediate safety or access risk.
Stay clear of the tree, any power lines it may have contacted, and any unstable remaining branches. Call us immediately on 0497 777 735 and describe the situation — we can advise on the safest next step.
For more guidance, see our article on what to do after storm damage.
Emergency callouts are priced differently from planned work due to urgency, timing, and the unpredictable nature of storm damage. We provide a clear price before starting any work.
Council & Regulations
In most Sydney council areas, approval is required before removing established or protected trees. The rules vary by council, tree species, and size. Dead or hazardous trees may have different requirements.
Our council approval guide covers the key things to check before booking work.
We can advise on whether your tree is likely to require approval and point you to the right council. For formal applications, you may need an arborist report — we can discuss this during the quoting process.
Removing a protected tree without approval can result in significant fines from your local council. It is always safer to check first, even if the tree appears dead or damaged.
