Is this the right service?
The canopy is in the roof, on the fence or over the driveway
Branches sitting on tiles, filling gutters or hanging over a driveway need a plan for clearance. Selected pruning or reduction may help where the remaining canopy and branch structure allow it.
A build or a landscaping job needs the space
A granny flat, pool, wider driveway or rear extension may need more canopy clearance. Check the approved building and tree-work requirements before deciding whether pruning can provide it.
Pruning or removal
Tree condition, available space and the canopy that would remain determine whether reduction is suitable. A compromised tree or a cutback that would leave large bare stubs may warrant removal instead.

How big the tree is
The height, spread and trunk size set the crew time, the equipment and the amount of green waste the job creates.
How much is coming off
A lighter reduction is a different job from bringing the height down and pulling the sides in as well. More canopy means more cutting, rigging, chipping and carting away.
How we get in, and what we need to reach it
Narrow access, sloping ground, climbing and any crane or elevated-platform requirements affect the work. Trees near electrical lines need network advice and appropriate authorisation before work can proceed.
Condition and suitable treatment
The condition and structure determine the appropriate treatment. Selective pruning might be all it needs, or taking it out may be more appropriate where the tree cannot tolerate the required reduction.
