Tree Removal in Blacktown: Council Rules and Permits

Council cannot issue an ordinary tree permit for the listed heritage, conservation-area, biodiversity or significant-tree circumstances. Those cases require the development-application and report pathway, apart from applicable minor-maintenance or deadwood exemptions. Arrange any required independent assessment separately from AA's physical tree work.

Can pruning address the problem?

For roof or path clearance, selective pruning may retain useful canopy while addressing particular branches. Where removal is suitable and permitted, access determines whether sections can be lowered or need mechanical lifting. Neither method changes the approval requirement.
